Leon is an active dog that likes to be kept busy. He loves running in the fields with my other dogs and is a natural at 'hunting' for game.

Leon has a natural aptitude for search work and will search for a hidden object for over 15 minutes without showing any lack of drive. I showed him to a friend of mine that is in one of the military working dog units and he was impressed, so impressed that he wanted to buy Leon.

Leon is currently being trained for his Gundog Club tests, although we are having a few problems with getting him to retrieve to hand (hence the long line that can be seen in some of these pictures). Leon has passed his Grade One test and we will be going back to basics before attempting the Grade Two test.

Leon attended a sheep herding weekend in June 2009 and proved that he is a true Spanish Water Dog by showing a herding instinct. He is a little unmanageable on sheep at present, but it was fabulous to see him develop an interest and to see him trying to 'balance' the sheep.
