 Golden Snitch of Druidale

"Snitch"

Snitch is a rescue dog and was found as a stray in Bedfordshire. I was looking for a small terrier and as she hadn't been claimed, I went to see her. Snitch is a perfect dog and I cannot believe that she was never reclaimed by her owners. Snitch is completely toy obsessed and has taken us into the world of BFA flyball. Her greatest love is tennis balls! Although squeaky toys come a close second.

Snitch does love her home comforts and is either sat curled up on my lap or in front of the open fire. She isn't really interested in other dogs, which has made her useful as a stooge dog. She loves clicker training and that was how she was taught flyball in the first instance.

She has gained her Flyball Dog award (for 200 points) at Selby College on 11th November 2006 and her Flyball Dog Intermediate (for 1000 points) on 6th September 2009. She has recently been nicknamed 'handbag dog' as she wears a Ruffwear harness when flyball racing. These harnesses have a handle on the back of them and you can just pick Snitch up and pop her under your arm...hence the nickname.

Snitch can be very border collie like in her behaviour...just watch her at the start line at flyball and you'll see what I mean!

We have no idea how old Snitch is, but it is possible she is older than I thought. I thought she might have been around two when I first got her, but she may have been older. She's had to have two major operations in her life; one to remove a peach stone from her small intestine where it had become lodged; and one to remove her spleen as it was noticed during her spay that she had a mass in it. Neither of these ops has made any difference to Snitch's outlook on life....if it's a tennis ball, chase it! if it's a squeaky toy, kill it!
